Abstract: | Spilostethus furcula (Herrich-Schaeffer, 1850) new for Italy, on tomato crops (Heteroptera, Lygaeidae) Abstract. The species of Afrotropical origin Spilostethus furcula (Herrich-Schaeffer, 1850) is recorded for the first time in Italy, in western Liguria. It is probably an accidental import as the species lives on wild Solanaceae but also on cultivated plants: in fact it was found on cluster tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum, cultivar "pollicino"). At present, no significant damage has been observed. |
