Abstract:

Xylotrechus chinensis (Chevrolat, 1852) was observed for the first time in French mainland. Two outbreaks are reported in the Gironde and Hérault departments. The previous interceptions and introductions worldwide are reviewed as well as the available biogeographic and biological data. The injuriousness, control methods, and invasive species status are documented. The expansion potential of this species in France is assessed.
